So you've been to the Get Ubuntu page, and now you're wondering how you can contribute and get yourself up on the page. Here's how to do it in a few simple steps.
- Register on the site. How?
- The preferred method: sign up to Launchpad, and then use your LP user page to Log in using OpenID.
- Alternate method: click on the Create new account link, and register on the site.
- In your user menu, click on Create content.
- Then click on Disks.
- Type in a title. Folks generally type their area and their distribution(s), e.g. "Ubuntu, Cape Town"
- In the list of Releases, select one or more releases that you have.
- In the list of Distributions, select one or more distributions (like Ubuntu and Kubuntu) that you have.
- In the list of Areas, select your area, and any other area you can give out CDs in (using Ctrl to select more than one area).
- Lastly, in the list of Architectures, select which architecture you have. If you are unsure, just select "32 bit/i386/i686".
- Under Best Times, type in when the best time is for folks to come and pick up the disks from you.
- Click the Save button.
If you need to come back and edit this disk, simply find it using the Get Ubuntu page, and then click through to the disk itself, and then click the Edit tab under the title. Note: you'll need to be logged in to do this.
