So you're unsure of how to use the Get Ubuntu page? Just read further, and we'll explain how to get the most out of the Get Ubuntu page.
At the top of the page you'll notice a big block with a thick orange border and some controls inside. This is the Filters block. By selecting various options and clicking the Apply button, you can narrow down the list of disks to a smaller subset.
The area filter helps you narrow down the list of disks to a particular area you live in. Start by finding and selecting the area you live in, and click the Apply button. If you get no results, simply select the bigger area that your area forms part of, and click the Apply button again.
If you want to select more than one area, simply hold down the Ctrl key (Apple key on Mac OS X) and click all the areas you want. This is useful if you want to find disks close to where you live as well as close to where you work.
The architecture is which type of processor you have in your computer. If you have an Intel processor (Pentium, Core, Core 2 Duo, etc), your architecture will most likely be 32 bit. If you have an AMD processor, these days you will most likely have a 64 bit architecture. If you are still unsure, please feel free to join us in IRC and ask us in there.
Once again, to apply this filter, simply select which architecture(s) you want, and click the Apply button.
This filter allows you to select which particular distribution you want. Ubuntu is the most common one, but some people prefer the derivatives like Kubuntu and Xubuntu. If you're a first time user, it is recommended that you use Ubuntu.
Just like the previous filters, select which distribution you want and click the Apply button for it to take effect.
